Great to see Steve enjoy himself during his annual social to France with friends.

It’s fair to say Steve fished his socks off that fortnight which resulted in him breaking his PB not once, not twice, not thrice, but FOUR times during a 14 night session!!!

With PB mirrors and commons now in the 50’s bracket, he’s now onto pastures new in pursuit of some very special French fish!

With the majority of lakes rapidly ‘cooling off’ as we approach the latter weeks in November, anglers venue voice becomes increasing important to give yourself the best chance of a bite.

Ideally you’ll want to be fishing a large expanse of water which will usually retain its heat and subsequently the carp will be more likely to feed.

Even a couple degrees increase in water temperature can make all the difference at this time of year.

Venues such as 30 acre Leon Lake typically have good form and as anticipated it was all about the night bites last week producing these 20kg+ common and mirror carp respectively.

I arrived at the syndicate on Friday after work and with only an hour until darkness, I wasted no time in getting 3 rods ‘clipped up’ and on the spots.

I’d fished the swim a couple of times before so I knew the areas that were likely to do bites or at the very least, give me a drop on the cast.

During these long autumnal nights the carp are often very active in the hours of darkness.

Sure enough, after setting up the Bivvy and putting the kettle on, I’d heard a few fish roll in a different zone to my hookbaits.

Not one to sit on my hands, I wound in one of the rods, attached a four bait PVA stringer accompanied by a fresh pop-up and cast to the area I’d heard them ‘boshing’ in.

The first take was at about 10pm which resulted in a low double on the rod I’d re-positioned. Happy days!

Next, I had an 18lb 4oz common (pictured) at about 11am and another small common roughly an hour later.

That totalled three carp in just under 24hrs angling, which is not bad considering I’m told the lake hadn’t produced a bite all week.

Greg got in touch with us following a successful weeks fishing at European ‘big fish’ water Lac De Premiere.

Greg booked the lake exclusively for a social with friends in the hope they might catch a few of the monster carp that reside in this notoriously tricky big fish venue.

By all accounts Greg fished particularly well landing multiple 50’s and 60’s throughout the week.

Nick got in touch with us with a requirement for last minute availability for his group of 5 anglers and 1 non fishing guest.

Unfortunately the group had been let down by another travel agent and reading between the lines, they were struggling to find a suitable alternative venue at short notice during what is typically a very popular time of year for fishing in Europe.

Luckily, we did our best to help and the guys were soon on their way to ‘big fish’ water Leon Lake located in Northeastern France.

They were met by the bailiff, shown to their swims and the lake produced a number of PB’s for the group throughout the week including a 64lb 8oz common and a 52lb respectively.

“The venue is basic but has some amazing fish. They were all in prestige condition. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable about the lake.

Now we have fished it we would definitely approach it in a different way. One bit of advice would be to fish with 30lb plus line due to the gravel bars and mussels, this resulted in us loosing at least 4 decent carp in mid water. The crays were not a problem and we could fish with boilies however this did result in me catching 2 of the diamond back sturgeon.

Overall, great venue. Not a runs water, but we knew that and the quality of fish were excellent. I would highly recommend this venue. Only down side is no showers or running water at the lake.”

💚 Today, we found ourselves on the banks of @blasfordhill at the annual netting of the day ticket carp lake. 📆

A number of regular anglers were in attendance, keen to lend a hand and see the specimen carp that reside in this tranquil part of the Essex countryside. 🌳☀️🐿️

Over 1300lb of silver fish were removed from the venue, which is probably one of the most successful nettings in recent years. 💪😎

With the removal of the silver fish it provides vital room, food and oxygen for the remaining stock in the lake.

“We all thought Le Glandon was a beautiful looking lake. Unfortunately for us the fishing was not as good, we think mainly because of weather.

We had a few decent fish. The owner and his family were great hosts, food was very good too.

6 hrs from Calais which flew past all motorway and was a very pleasant drive. Will defo be going back at some stage.

Kurt was keen to make the most of these prime Autu

Kurt was keen to make the most of these prime Autumnal 🍂 🌅 conditions and planned a return trip to a tricky English syndicate lake, hoping to create an opportunity for a bite.

His timing couldn’t have been better. He ended up landing x3 fish during his initial visit and was keen to capitalise on his efforts and go back for more.

Fast forward to the following weekend and sure enough, Kurt’s second 24hr session resulted in a capture of what is believed to be the biggest common in the lake.

It’s actually the second time running Kurt’s caught the common! 💪😏

Chris and Scott had an awesome social at this small intimate ’English style’ venue located near the city of Limoges in France. The lads ended the week with a number of carp including a French PB 56lb 7oz respectively.

Arron’s been on good form at the Bayeswater Syndicate in📍Essex landing one of the lakes most sought after residents 🤤😍 known as the ‘Big Fully’ at 37lb 4oz.

Arron also caught a stocky common at 28lb during his session amid what was arguably biblical 📕 weather conditions 🌊🌪️😳 including strong winds, heavy rain and a new moon phase. 🌑

As many of you will know, the weather in France has been nothing short of biblical these last couple of weeks! 🌊🌪️⛈️

We’ve seen storms raging across the country destroying most things in their path. 🌪️😬

Even @davelevyofficial had a narrow ‘escape’ (see what we did there 🙈) 🤣 with a rather large tree, which practically flattened his cook tent on the banks of Itkus! ⛺️🌳 Luckily, nobody was hurt.

Our group however were fairly warm and dry by comparison at Le Glandon 😎 ☀️and whilst they had their share of weather 🌧️, Mick and the lads still managed to bank four 40's, two 30s and about a dozen small carp between the group.

Staying close to our Essex roots, here’s TomO again with a lovely looking linear caught from his Syndi.

TomO used a bright pop-up screwed onto a Ronnie rig in combination with a tiny PVA mesh bag of pellet and no other bait around it.

With the water temperatures cooling and the carp unable to metabolise certain baits as we progress further into the autumnal months, bait choice and bait application become equally as important as finding the fish and presenting rigs cleanly amongst the twigs and leaf litter.
